NOTE: For shipment of stoles, we recommend that you choose U.S. Postal Service. It is much less expensive than UPS or Federal Express for packages the size of stoles.

Grupa Mana Stoles from Peru:
The brightly-colored fabric of these stoles is called "manta," which is a traditional woven textile commonly used by indigenous women to carry their children on their backs. Thee stoles are made by Grupa Mana, a cooperative group of women who live in the outskirts of Lima. "Grupa Mana" is named after Manna from the Bible.

Cross and Dove Stole from Bosnia/Herzogovina:
This stole, made by a cooperative group of both Christian and Muslim women in
Sarajevo, is of cream-colored cotton, embroidered with a cross, flowers, leaves,
and a dove on each side.

STOLES FROM GUATEMALA
The four stoles shown below were made by women who live in an impoverished area called "Esperanza" (Hope). Their craft project generates income for the individual women and for community programs, including a community medical/dental clinic, tutoring program, infant growth monitoring and breast-feeding promotion program, and daycare. Purchasing these products helps to support an entire community. Because they are handmade, there may be slight variation in the pattern from the pictures below. Each is 54" to 55 1/2" in length with an added 4" fringe.

STOLES FROM BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA
The next three stoles shown below were made by a group of women named "Sarajevo Phoenix." These women are ethnically diverse--Croats, Muslims and Orthodox who believe in a multi-ethnic Bosnia-Herzegovina, and are working courageously together to revitalize this part of the world.
