The electrical current in much of the world is 220-240 volts, while the current in the United States and Canada is generally 110-120 volts.  Global Connections has several  Dual Voltage Appliances which can be used with either 110-120 or 220-240 volts, but if you want to use your 110-120 volt appliance in another country, you may need:
