FARMER'S FLUTE (Basuri)
The
Farmer's Flute ("Basuri" in Nepalese) has a beautiful tone with a diatonic
scale, played off to the right side, like a modern flute. In Nepal, it is used with the Farmer's Cymbals &
Damaru & Madal Drums for weddings & in the morning procession
to worship.

MOCENO FLUTES
Made
by mountain people in Bolivia and Peru, these Moceno Flutes are painted in many
different colors, and have a beautiful &
haunting tone, with a pentatonic scale. You don't need to be a flautist to
get their beautiful tone, because they are played by placing your mouth directly
on the opening of the appendage (smaller piece) of the flute.

PAN FLUTES
The
Pan Flutes shown below (or "Pan-Pipes, as they are also called) are from Peru.
Blowing across the varied-length bamboo pipes give a wide range of notes,
illustrative of the basic principles underlying the sound generation of
flutes. Their music is beautiful, too.
